Connect Omneky to ChatGPT
Custom connectors sit behind developer mode, so there’s one extra switch.
Write a clear description
The model reads the connector’s description to decide when to use it. Try: “Generates ad creative, reports on paid media, and launches campaigns.”
Can’t find developer mode?
On Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces, an admin allows it first, under Workspace Settings → Permissions & Roles → Connected Data → Create custom MCP connectors. Free accounts can’t add custom connectors. ChatGPT only accepts remote HTTPS servers, which is what Omneky is: there’s nothing to host or install.

Do I need an API key?
No. The connector uses OAuth: you sign in to Omneky in a browser window, and nothing secret is stored in ChatGPT.
I can’t find the developer mode switch.
On Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces, an admin has to allow custom MCP connectors first. On a Free account the option isn’t there: you need a paid plan.
It’s connected, but ChatGPT ignores it.
Open the connector picker in the composer and switch Omneky on for that chat. A clear description on the connector helps too: the model reads it when deciding whether to use the tools.
